About the Programme

The philosophy of this extended weekend workshop is based on tradition. The subject of Ashtanga yoga is vast and worthy of a lifetime of learning. You will join a comprehensive and engaging program aimed at preparing you for a journey into the dimension of Ashtanga Yoga – as physical practice and a world view. After this weekend you will be established in daily practice and technique for the principle postures of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. You will learn classic yogic breathing techniques, the traditional method of Sanskrit Vinyasas counting and you will get familiar with the Mysore Ashtanga Yoga style. The Asthanga Workshop is led by Mysore Sthalam8 teacher Shiva Prakash and will be assisted by Amon Kasper.

During the past 9 years since 2011, Shiva Prakash is teaching Ashtanga practice at Sthalam8 Ashtanga Yoga Vedanta Center. Sthalam8 is a famous yoga studio in Mysore, India where a student can experience a complete immersion in the Ashtanga Yoga practice, led by Ajay Kumar. Mysore is considered as the vibrant centre and birthplace of the Ashtanga tradition.
